Dear Praying Pastors and Friends,
I hope that you have enjoyed your summer and that everyone is excited as this season comes to an end. After being denied entry into South Africa back in May, we have worked hard to make the most of the extended time we have had here in the States. The Lord has blessed and we have had many wonderful opportunities this summer. We have been able to be apart of two summer camps. During one of those camps, I was able to assist in leading a 16 year old young man to Christ and we have stayed in touch since then. I have also been able to preach and teach Sunday school in my home church as well as a few other churches in our area. We have also been able to attend a marriage conference that was hosted by Vision Baptist Church in Alpharetta, GA. This was a much needed time for us to get away and rejuvenate. We have seen the Lord greatly bless and grow us during this time and even though it is not what we wanted (as we desire to be in South Africa), we know that we are right where the Lord wants us to be right now.
We are still working through some things as far reapplying for the Volunteer visa. The attorney has suggested that I possibly reapply by myself and leave Ashley and the kids off the application. He feels that I am more likely to be granted a visa by myself than we would be as a family. Once we obtain a visa for me, it gives us a little more power in obtaining a visa for my wife and my children. There are a lot of things to consider and we would ask that you pray for us as we move forward in this area.
August Prayer Requests:
- Safety As We Travel: We are scheduled to preach and present in a few churches this month. Please pray for us as we travel.
- Our Meetings: That we can be a blessing to all we come in contact with this next month.
- Visa Situation: That we obtain the proper paperwork and get to the field in the Lord’s time.
Thank you for praying for us during this time. We love you all!
For His Glory,
Jason, Ashley, Marley, Norah, & Ian
